Far too many of them have drunk the Kool-Aid at wherever they work for my tastes (I feel really uncomfortable with startup culture in general and "work is life"/"Facebook/Google/etc. I don't know why, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's because a lot of those girls seem like they'd be more into jocks. The finance and consulting people tend to fizzle out before we even get to meeting in real life.

I end up trying to date Marketing At A Tech Company And Red Wine and finance/consulting-I'm not really into hiking and have a hard time connecting with engineers, although I've tried. When I lived in New York, I met a lot more women who were into the humanities and the arts but weren't total hipsters/outdoorspeople, and that's my most natural "fit." I'm starting to feel like the majority of women I meet either online or in real life fall into one of a few categories: Marketing At A Tech Company And Red Wine, finance/consulting, crunchy granola naturalists, or engineers. I think it's terrible, but it depends what you're looking for.

Late to this party, but want to chime in.
